What You'll Learn

Before your first lesson, we'll discuss your learning goals in a free Zoom consultation
and create a personalized lesson plan just for you.
If you would like a consultation, please contact me through the「Contact」page.

During the lessons, I explain everything in Japanese using Zoom's translated captions feature. The captions can be displayed in your preferred language.

If traditional Japanese painting materials are difficult to obtain in your country, I can recommend suitable alternatives.

About Lessons

Q
Is the instructor Japanese? Can I take lessons if I don't speak Japanese?
A
Yes. I am Japanese, and the lessons are conducted in Japanese.
However, Zoom's live translated captions allow both of us to read our conversation in our own languages.
Since many languages are supported, you can join the lessons with confidence.
Q
Do I need traditional Japanese painting materials to take your lessons?
A
Not necessarily. If traditional Japanese painting materials are difficult to obtain in your country, I can recommend suitable alternatives based on what is available where you live.
Before your first lesson, we'll discuss the materials that best suit your situation.
For more information, please see the "Materials Guide," where you'll find information about commonly used Nihonga materials and suitable alternatives.
Q
I'm a complete beginner. Is that okay?
A
Absolutely.
Lessons are tailored to each student's experience and goals, and beginners are always welcome.
Q
Do I need to install the Zoom app?
A
Installing the Zoom app is recommended, but you can also join your lesson through your web browser without installing the app.
Q
I'm not sure about taking lessons on Zoom. Can I ask questions before I start?
A
Yes. Please contact me through the "Contact" page.
You are welcome to book a free Zoom consultation before your first lesson. It's also a great opportunity to become familiar with Zoom.
Q
What happens after I book a lesson?
A
Two days before your lesson, you will receive an email containing your Zoom meeting link.
Click the link in the email to open Zoom in your browser or the Zoom app.
You can also join the waiting room before your lesson begins, so I recommend checking that everything is working in advance.
